iPodder and PocketPC continued

Jamie gave the following comment to my post about iPodder and PocketPC

Microsoft ActiveSync is only going to sync your podcasts to the _Main Memory_ of your PocketPC and will NOT sync to an SD or CompactFlash card and so is of very limited use for receiving podcasts which will quickly fill the typical 64MB of main memory. I have been using MightySync to move shows from my iPodder\downloads directory to my SD card and it works quite well although it does cost a few bucks.

I was not aware of this problem. Another, less costly, solution is to get yourself a cardreader. These are cheap to get and with your sd-card in the cardreader you can configure youre ipodder app to directly download onto your sd-card. (when you stick your card in the cardreader normally an extra drive pops up in your windows explorer which you can normally acces, just like it was your harddrive)

The mediacards are getting cheaper and cheaper, i’ve seen 1GB cards for 99 euro’s in the shop.

Why can’t we just tell iPodder that the files that it must store the downloads in is the sync file of Activesync (in Mydocuments)

Because activesync will only access the 64mb standard memory and not the extra memory of your SD-card.
