iPodder for windows 1.00a
Ok, Another update.
Changes:
1. I found out that the popup messages stalled the execution until you clicked the OK button. They now show for 3 seconds and then automatically dissapear while the script continues execution.
2. Some people asked for something to show progress, so when an RSS feed is scanned it now popups the channelname and when a file is downloaded it also will popup the filename.
3. Instead of adding all files to the mainlibrary of Itunes the script now adds the files to the right playlist. If the playlist does not exist the script will create it. The name of the playlist is equal to the channelname.
4. The log will show only the new files that where downloaded plus shows the total number of downloaded files.
5. I’ve added a litle installation instruction to the zip.
Download iPodder_js_1.00a
(Edit: you find a newer version here)
Please let me now if everything works ok and what wishes you have.
Have fun. and Greetz,

improvement- should check that the file doesn’t exist, so as not to waste host bandwidth.

Got also iTunes running and your Script is Running like a charme. My Question : If i want to clean up my download folder, your script downloads all media again. In your other script you keep some sort of text database with all downloaded media. Are you going to implement this in your iPodder Script 1.x ??

A nitpick is that file names don’t have HTML entities decoded… so a space in a file name is “%20″. IT conversations uses spaces–
Filenames like “The%20Gillmor%20Gang%20-%20August%2027,%202004.mp3″ are hard to read.
The ability to specify a target playlist by name would be useful.

Nice script. But a shame this is build for iTunes only users. I have a Memory-stick MP3 player, and don’t want to install iTunes. Maybe you can check for iTunes and if not installed you DL the enclusures only to the path specified. Extra nifty would it be when you generate a winamp playlist of all the files in the DL target directory.
Realy needed is a local database of files allready dl-ed, so you can skip them the next script-run (simple text file in the scriptdir should be enough).

@Bas, comment out the iTunes bits and it should work for your mp3 player.

Here’s another bold statement: in my opinion, green card lottery there are enough exceptions to this theory present usa visa in jazz, that as a music I will exempt it from dv2006 that entire clause. You can certainly find examples dv2006
